How to Choose the Right Calendar

Magnetic or Non-Magnetic - Choose a magnetic calendar if your refrigerator is a central point of communication in your family or if you do most of your family planning and scheduling from the kitchen.  Choose a non-magnetic family calendar if you have a stainless steel refrigerator or like to hang your family calendar on a bulletin board, in an office, or mud room.  Please note, that most magnetic family calendars also have the ability to hang on a bulletin board or on the back of a door.  Magnetic family calendars to choose from are the Mom's Plan It Calendar, Do It All Mom Calendar, Family Plan It Calendar, Fridge GRID Pad, Weekly Family Planner, Mom's Plan It Christian Calendar, Mom's Home Plan It Christian Calendar, and Mom's Home Plan It Non-Magnetic family calendars to choose from are the Family Life Do It All and BusyBodyBook Wall Calendar.

Month at a Glance - Choose a month at a glance calendar format if you tend to do a lot of forward planning and enjoy the ability to see your family's schedule for the entire month.  Month at a glance formats to choose from are the Mom's Plan It Calendar, Do It All Mom Calendar, Family Plan It Calendar, Mom's Plan It Christian Calendar, Mom's Home Plan It Christian Calendar, Mom's Home Plan It, and Family Life Do It All

Week at a Glance - Choose a week at a glance calendar format if you have very busy schedules that change significantly from week to week or if you find monthly calendars overwhelming.  Week at a Glance family calendars to choose from are the Fridge GRID Pad, Weekly Family Planner, and BusyBodyBook Wall Calendar.

Dated or Undated - Family calendars come in either a dated or undated format.  Choose a dated format if you use your family calendar regularly and have a lot of things going on in your family's schedule.  Choose an undated family calendar if you don't necessarily need a calendar every week or month, but need one available for especially busy times.  Dated formats to choose from are the Mom's Plan It Calendar, Do It All Mom Calendar, Family Plan It Calendar, Mom's Plan It Christian Calendar, Mom's Home Plan It Christian Calendar, Mom's Home Plan It, BusyBodyBook Wall Calendar, and Family Life Do It All Undated formats to choose from are the Fridge GRID Pad and Weekly Family Planner.

Vertical or Horizontal Grid - Family calendars come in two different formats, a horizontal format with the dates running across the top and family names down the side and a vertical format with family names running across the top and the dates running down the side.  With the vertical format, you only need to write the family members' names once and you can more easily get a good read of each person's schedule. But you do sacrifice the "traditional" monthly or weekly calendar view; making it more difficult to quickly spot when certain days or weekends occur in the month or week.  With the horizontal format, you maintain the "traditional" monthly or weekly calendar view, but getting a quick read on each family members' schedule can be more difficult.  Family calendars with a vertical format are the BusyBodyBook Wall Calendar and the Fridge GRID Pad .  Family calendars with the horizontal format are Mom's Plan It Calendar, Do It All Mom Calendar, Family Plan It Calendar, Weekly Family Planner, Mom's Plan It Christian Calendar, Mom's Home Plan It Christian Calendar, Mom's Home Plan It, and Family Life Do It All

Storage Pockets - Because families usually have a lot of stuff and a lot going on, many family calendars have incorporated storage pockets into their design.  Choose a calendar with pockets if you need a handy way of keeping track of birthday invitations, permission slips, appointment card reminders, or other stray papers that find their way into your home.  Family calendars with pockets are Mom's Plan It Calendar, Family Plan It Calendar, Do It All Mom Calendar, Mom's Plan It Christian Calendar, Mom's Home Plan It Christian Calendar, Mom's Home Plan It, and Family Life Do It All.

Size of the Family - Keeping track of the family schedule is a big job, but can be really tough for large families.  Choose a large family calendar and planner if your family has six or more members.  Family Calendars for Large Families - Family Life Do It All, BusyBodyBook Wall Calendar, and the Fridge GRID Pad.
