Description

Boursin Salmon brings restaurant-quality elegance right to your dinner table with minimal effort and maximum flavor. Creamy herbed cheese melts beautifully over tender fish, creating a quick weeknight meal that feels totally luxurious.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients:

  • 1 pound fresh salmon
  • 1 (5.2 ounces) Boursin Garlic & Fine Herbs cheese

Seasonings:

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Supporting Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • ½ medium onion
  • ¾ cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • 12 tablespoons fresh chopped parsley

Instructions

  1. Grab your salmon fillets and pat them completely dry with paper towels. Sprinkle ½ teaspoon garlic powder, salt, and pepper evenly across both sides of the fish.
  2. Place a large skillet over medium-high heat. Melt 1 tablespoon butter and 1 tablespoon olive oil together, creating a golden cooking surface.
  3. Carefully lay the 4 salmon fillets into the hot skillet. Cook for exactly 3-4 minutes on the first side until a golden-brown crust develops.
  4. Flip the fillets and cook the opposite side for another 3-4 minutes. Transfer the salmon to a separate plate and set aside.
  5. Drop chopped onions into the same skillet. Sauté for approximately 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the onions turn soft and lightly golden.
  6. Pour ¾ cup chicken broth and 1 teaspoon lemon juice into the skillet. Use a spatula to scrape up any delicious browned bits from the bottom.
  7. Add the entire 5.2 oz package of Boursin Garlic & Fine Herbs cheese to the skillet. Stir continuously until the cheese melts completely and creates a smooth sauce.
  8. Let the sauce simmer for 4-5 minutes, allowing it to thicken slightly while stirring occasionally.
  9. Return the salmon fillets to the skillet, nestling them gently into the creamy sauce. Simmer over medium-low heat for 3-5 minutes until the fish is fully cooked.
  10. Sprinkle 1-2 tablespoons fresh chopped parsley over the top as a final garnish. Serve immediately with your favorite accompaniments.

Notes

  • Always start with dry salmon to achieve a perfect golden-brown sear that locks in flavor and creates a delicious crispy exterior.
  • Use a non-stick or well-seasoned cast iron skillet for even cooking and easier salmon release without sticking.
  • For a lighter version, replace butter with additional olive oil and swap chicken broth for vegetable broth to reduce calories.
  • Fresh Boursin cheese melts more smoothly than cold cheese, so let it sit at room temperature for about 15 minutes before preparing the sauce.
