Ingredients
Scale
Proteins:
- 1 lb ground beef
Carbohydrates:
- 4 large flour tortillas
- 4 tostada shells
Toppings and Seasonings:
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- ½ cup water
- 1 cup nacho cheese sauce
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup diced onions
- ½ cup sliced jalapenos
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Brown 1 lb ground beef in a large skillet at medium heat (375°F). Crumble meat thoroughly while cooking until no pink remains.
- Drain excess fat from beef. Sprinkle entire packet of taco seasoning and pour ½ cup water into skillet. Simmer mixture for 5 minutes until sauce thickens.
- Warm 4 large flour tortillas in a dry pan for 10-15 seconds per side, making them flexible for wrapping.
- Place one tortilla on a clean surface. Spread 2 tablespoons nacho cheese sauce in the center of the tortilla.
- Add ¼ cup seasoned beef directly on top of the cheese sauce, creating an even layer.
- Center a tostada shell over the beef. Top with 2 tablespoons sour cream, ¼ cup shredded lettuce, 2 tablespoons diced tomatoes, and ¼ cup shredded cheddar cheese.
- Optional: Sprinkle 2 tablespoons diced onions or 1 tablespoon sliced jalapeños for extra kick.
- Fold tortilla edges toward the center, creating a sealed hexagonal shape. Ensure all edges overlap to prevent filling from escaping.
- Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a skillet at medium heat (350°F). Place Crunchwrap seam-side down.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes until bottom turns golden brown and crispy. Carefully flip and cook opposite side for another 2 minutes.
- Remove from skillet and let rest for 1 minute. Slice diagonally and serve immediately with optional side condiments.
Notes
- Warm tortillas briefly before assembling to prevent cracking and make folding easier.
- Use a griddle or heavy skillet to achieve that perfect golden-brown, crispy exterior when grilling.
- For a vegetarian version, swap ground beef with black beans or plant-based protein crumbles.
- Seal the edges tightly when folding to prevent filling from leaking during cooking, pressing down firmly with your spatula to create a tight seal.
