Ingredients
Scale
Main Ingredients:
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup fresh spinach, chopped
- ½ cup shredded cheese
Supporting Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tablespoons milk
Seasoning:
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Chop the fresh spinach into small pieces. Crack 4 large eggs into a mixing bowl and whisk them with 2 tablespoons milk, ¼ teaspoon salt, and ¼ teaspoon black pepper until smooth.
- Heat a medium nonstick pan to medium temperature (around 350°F). Melt 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter across the pan’s surface.
- Add chopped spinach to the pan. Sauté for 1-2 minutes at medium heat, stirring occasionally until leaves become soft and bright green.
- Remove spinach from pan. Reduce heat to medium-low (around 325°F). Pour entire egg mixture into the pan, tilting to create an even layer.
- Allow eggs to cook undisturbed for 2-3 minutes at medium-low heat. Watch for edges to set while center remains slightly liquid.
- Distribute cooked spinach and ½ cup shredded cheese across half of the omelette’s surface.
- Use a spatula to fold the bare egg half over the cheese and spinach side. Gently press edges to seal.
- Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes at medium-low heat until cheese melts completely and eggs are fully set.
- Slide omelette onto a plate. Cut in half if sharing and serve immediately while hot.
Notes
- Whisk eggs thoroughly to incorporate air, creating a fluffier texture and more delicate omelette.
- Sauté spinach briefly before adding to eggs to remove excess moisture and intensify its flavor.
- Use a non-stick pan and medium-low heat to prevent burning and ensure even cooking of your eggs.
- For a protein boost, consider adding diced ham or cooked chicken alongside the spinach and cheese.
