Description

Longhorn Steakhouse Parmesan Chicken delivers a restaurant-quality meal right to your dinner table with crispy, cheesy perfection. Recreate this classic favorite at home by coating tender chicken in a golden parmesan crust that brings serious flavor to your plate.

Ingredients

Scale

Proteins:

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Breading and Seasoning:

  • 1 cup bread crumbs (Italian-style)
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Wet Ingredients:

  • 2 large eggs
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F. Grab a baking dish and set it nearby for later.
  2. Create three separate shallow dishes: first with ½ cup flour, second with 2 eggs and ¼ cup milk whisked together, third with 1 cup bread crumbs, 1 cup Parmesan cheese, 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning, ½ teaspoon salt, and ¼ teaspoon black pepper.
  3. Pat your chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Thoroughly coat each piece first in flour, then dunk completely in egg mixture, finally roll in seasoned bread crumb mixture.
  4. Heat 2 tablespoons olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear each chicken breast for 3-4 minutes per side until achieving a golden-brown exterior.
  5. Carefully transfer browned chicken to prepared baking dish. Sprinkle 1 cup mozzarella cheese evenly over chicken.
  6. Mix remaining Parmesan cheese with 2 minced garlic cloves. Distribute this mixture across the top of the chicken.
  7. Slide the baking dish into the preheated 375°F oven. Bake for 20-25 minutes until cheese melts completely and chicken reaches 165°F internal temperature.
  8. Remove from oven and let chicken rest for 3-5 minutes before serving to allow juices to redistribute.

Notes

  • Chicken thickness matters, so pound breasts to an even 1/2-inch thickness for consistent cooking and crispy coating.
  • Use fresh parmesan cheese for the best flavor and texture, avoiding pre-grated options that can be dry and lack taste.
  • For a gluten-free version, swap wheat flour with almond flour or gluten-free breadcrumbs and check seasoning ingredients.
  • Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes after baking to help retain moisture and allow the cheese to set slightly before serving.
