Description

Pork Chop Supreme delivers a comforting family dinner that brings pure satisfaction to your table. Tender chops nestled in a creamy mushroom sauce make your weeknight meal feel like a warm culinary hug.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Proteins:

  • 4 bone-in pork chops

Vegetables and Aromatics:

  • 1 medium yellow onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 8 ounces cremini mushrooms

Liquids and Seasonings:

  • ½ cup dry white wine
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • Salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Pat 4 bone-in pork chops completely dry with paper towels. Season each chop generously with salt and black pepper on both sides.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat at 400F. Sear pork chops for exactly 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown. Transfer chops to a separate plate.
  3. Reduce skillet heat to medium. Add thinly sliced onion and cook for 5-7 minutes until softened and translucent.
  4. Drop minced garlic into skillet. Stir constantly for 60 seconds until aromatic. Toss in 8 ounces sliced cremini mushrooms.
  5. Cook mushrooms for 5-6 minutes until they release moisture and start to brown. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
  6. Pour ½ cup white wine into skillet. Scrape bottom of pan to release browned bits. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until wine reduces slightly.
  7. Add 1 cup chicken broth and ½ cup heavy cream. Stir ingredients together until well combined.
  8. Mix in 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard, 1 tablespoon chopped thyme, and 1 tablespoon chopped parsley. Season with salt and pepper.
  9. Lower skillet temperature to 325F. Return pork chops to sauce, nestling them gently. Cover and simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  10. Check pork chop internal temperature reaches 145F. Remove lid and stir in 2 tablespoons butter until melted.
  11. Spoon sauce generously over chops. Sprinkle additional fresh parsley on top before serving immediately.

Notes

  • Choose thick, bone-in pork chops for maximum flavor and juiciness, which help prevent the meat from drying out during cooking.
  • Pat the pork chops completely dry before seasoning to ensure a perfect golden-brown sear that locks in moisture and creates a delicious crust.
  • Use a meat thermometer to check internal temperature, as overcooking makes pork chops tough and dry, while 145F guarantees tender, juicy meat.
  • For a gluten-free version, replace the flour slurry with cornstarch or skip the thickening step, which still produces a delicious sauce with slightly thinner consistency.
