Ingredients
Scale
Main Ingredients:
- 1 lb medium shrimp
- 1, ½ cups white wine
- ½ cup softened butter
Supporting Ingredients:
- ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons garlic
- ½ fresh lemon
- 1 tablespoon pure olive oil
- 1 teaspoon italian seasoning
- 1 tablespoon parsley
Instructions
- Preheat your cast iron skillet over medium-high heat for 3-4 minutes. Pour 1 tbsp pure olive oil into the hot pan and swirl to coat the surface.
- Carefully place 1 lb medium shrimp in the skillet. Cook for 2 minutes per side until they turn pink and become tender. Transfer the shrimp to a clean plate.
- Lower the heat to medium and add 2 tbsp finely chopped garlic. Sauté for exactly 1-2 minutes, constantly stirring to prevent browning.
- Pour 1 ½ cups white wine and squeeze ½ fresh lemon’s juice into the skillet. Allow the liquid to simmer and reduce by half, which takes approximately 4-5 minutes.
- Sprinkle 1 tsp Italian seasoning into the reduced sauce. Gently stir to incorporate the herbs.
- Reduce heat to low and add ½ cup softened butter. Whisk slowly to create a smooth sauce without separating the butter.
- Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet. Gently toss to coat each piece with the sauce. Sprinkle 1 tbsp fresh parsley over the top.
- Finish the dish by evenly sprinkling ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese across the shrimp. Serve immediately while hot.
Notes
- Choose large, fresh shrimp for the best texture and flavor in this classic seafood dish.
- Use a cast iron skillet to get a perfect sear on the shrimp and create a delicious golden color.
- Add white wine gradually and let it reduce slowly to concentrate the flavors and create a rich sauce.
- Keep the garlic moving in the pan to prevent burning, which can make the sauce bitter and unpleasant.
