Description

Cooking Shrimp Scampi brings pure restaurant-quality deliciousness right to your kitchen table without leaving home. Garlic, butter, and tender shrimp create a classic seafood dinner that feels like a luxurious treat straight from Red Lobster’s menu.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients:

  • 1 lb medium shrimp
  • 1, ½ cups white wine
  • ½ cup softened butter

Supporting Ingredients:

  • ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons garlic
  • ½ fresh lemon
  • 1 tablespoon pure olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon italian seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon parsley

Instructions

  1. Preheat your cast iron skillet over medium-high heat for 3-4 minutes. Pour 1 tbsp pure olive oil into the hot pan and swirl to coat the surface.
  2. Carefully place 1 lb medium shrimp in the skillet. Cook for 2 minutes per side until they turn pink and become tender. Transfer the shrimp to a clean plate.
  3. Lower the heat to medium and add 2 tbsp finely chopped garlic. Sauté for exactly 1-2 minutes, constantly stirring to prevent browning.
  4. Pour 1 ½ cups white wine and squeeze ½ fresh lemon’s juice into the skillet. Allow the liquid to simmer and reduce by half, which takes approximately 4-5 minutes.
  5. Sprinkle 1 tsp Italian seasoning into the reduced sauce. Gently stir to incorporate the herbs.
  6. Reduce heat to low and add ½ cup softened butter. Whisk slowly to create a smooth sauce without separating the butter.
  7. Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet. Gently toss to coat each piece with the sauce. Sprinkle 1 tbsp fresh parsley over the top.
  8. Finish the dish by evenly sprinkling ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese across the shrimp. Serve immediately while hot.

Notes

  • Choose large, fresh shrimp for the best texture and flavor in this classic seafood dish.
  • Use a cast iron skillet to get a perfect sear on the shrimp and create a delicious golden color.
  • Add white wine gradually and let it reduce slowly to concentrate the flavors and create a rich sauce.
  • Keep the garlic moving in the pan to prevent burning, which can make the sauce bitter and unpleasant.
