Description

Steak and cheese garlic toast brings delicious, cheesy comfort right to your plate. Melted cheese, tender steak, and crispy garlic bread combine for a mouthwatering meal that satisfies your deepest hunger.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients:

  • 12 ounces thinly shaved cheesesteak meat
  • 6 slices frozen garlic cheese Texas toast bread
  • 3 slices provolone cheese
  • 3 slices mozzarella cheese

Supporting Ingredients:

  • ½ cup diced green bell peppers
  • ½ cup sliced onions

Seasonings and Cooking Fats:

  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • Olive oil, as needed
  • Butter, as needed

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F. Arrange 6 slices of frozen garlic cheese Texas toast on a baking sheet. Bake for 5-7 minutes until edges turn golden and crisp.
  2. Warm 2 tablespoons olive oil in a 10-inch skillet over medium heat. Sauté ½ cup green bell peppers and ½ cup onions for 4-5 minutes until softened and slightly caramelized.
  3. Remove vegetables from skillet. Add 12 ounces thinly shaved cheesesteak meat to the same pan. Cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring constantly, until meat browns evenly.
  4. Layer 3 pieces of toasted garlic bread with 1 slice provolone cheese each. Distribute cooked meat and sautéed vegetables across the toast.
  5. Top each open-faced sandwich with 1 slice mozzarella cheese. Season with pinch of salt and pepper to enhance flavors.
  6. Melt 1 tablespoon butter in skillet over medium-low heat. Carefully transfer sandwiches to pan and cook 2-3 minutes per side until cheese melts completely.
  7. Press sandwiches gently with spatula to compress layers. Remove from heat when cheese becomes gooey and bread develops a crispy, golden exterior.
  8. Slice sandwiches diagonally and serve immediately while ingredients remain warm and melted.

Notes

  • Choose a high-quality, thinly shaved steak for the most tender and flavorful result.
  • Sauté the vegetables first to develop a deeper, more caramelized taste before cooking the meat.
  • Use a cast-iron skillet or heavy-bottomed pan to get a perfect golden-brown crust on the bread and create even heat distribution.
  • For a lighter version, swap regular cheese toast with whole grain bread and use reduced-fat cheese options.
