Ingredients
Scale
Proteins:
- 5 slices bacon
- 10 shrimp
- 1 link kielbasa sausage
Primary Vegetables:
- 3 cups cabbage
- ½ cup yellow onions
- 2 cloves garlic
Seasonings and Liquids:
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon seafood seasoning
- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano
- Crushed red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Toss 10 shrimp with 1 tablespoon olive oil and 1 teaspoon seafood seasoning. Let them marinate while preparing other ingredients.
- Place a large skillet over medium heat. Cook 5 bacon slices until crispy at 325°F. Transfer bacon to a paper towel, keeping grease in the pan.
- Add 1 link kielbasa sausage to the skillet. Brown for 2-3 minutes on each side at 350°F. Remove and set aside with bacon.
- Cook marinated shrimp in a single layer for 3 minutes per side at 375°F until pink and curled. Reserve with other proteins.
- Melt 1 tablespoon butter in the skillet. Add ½ cup chopped onions, ½ teaspoon smoked paprika, ½ teaspoon dried oregano, ¼ teaspoon salt, ¼ teaspoon black pepper, and a pinch of red pepper flakes.
- Sauté onion mixture for 5-6 minutes until softened. Add 2 minced garlic cloves and cook 30 seconds.
- Pour 1 tablespoon butter and 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar into the skillet. Add 3 cups cabbage and toss to coat.
- Cook cabbage for 12 minutes at medium heat, stirring occasionally until tender but slightly crunchy.
- Return bacon, shrimp, and sausage to the skillet. Fold everything together and warm for 1-2 minutes.
- Taste and adjust seasonings before serving your delicious one-pan meal.
Notes
- Let the shrimp marinate for deeper flavor, but don’t leave them longer than 15 minutes or they’ll start to break down.
- Choose a large skillet to ensure everything has space to cook evenly and develop delicious caramelization.
- Drain excess bacon grease if you prefer a lighter dish, but keeping some adds rich flavor to the cabbage.
- For a low-carb version, swap kielbasa for chicken sausage and use less butter to reduce calories.
